New Years Resolutions

New year, new me.

You hear this phrase a lot this time of year and, in my opinion, it is utter rubbish.

At the beginning of each year, everyone decides that they must complete reinvent themselves, the personality and their fitness habits. WHY?!


While the new year is very much for stopping to reflect on the last year and the future, it should really be about improvement and development rather than complete newness. Not only are you setting yourself up for failure, but also why should you change yourself completely?!


For me, 2017 was a big year: I graduated university, moved to London and completed the CELTA course. I also visited so many places like Malta and Mallorca; I got to spend my birthday in my favourite European city, Berlin (thanks Aidan!) and I have also started to plan my first really big adventure.

2017 was really amazing, but 2018 I hope is going to be even better as I start to put all my plans into action and as all starts to unfold very soon.

As far as new years’ resolutions are concerned, mine is simply to focus on happiness, travel and personal development. Sometimes, I can be very hard on myself and overthink myself into a complete knot; this leaves me very often stressed and confused. So, my happiness and sense of personal development is going to be at the centre of everything I do this year. Rather than having a specific target, I want to be able to look back on 2018 as I do 2017 with even more positivity and a stronger sense of self and self love.

It’s going to be a challenge, but I’m looking forward to the future and another year moving forward and seeing even more places!
